As a micro firm, we just don’t have the time or resources to conduct full day tree hugging events with corporate team building experts.  As nice as a firm retreat to Fiji sounds, it is just not feasible.

That doesn’t mean that we do not constantly think about why we are doing what we are doing.  It is a fundamental human need to feel that we spend our days doing something worthwhile.  That can be difficult when you have dedicated your life to a profession and an area of work within the profession that has its fair share of detractors.

Obviously it would be better if nobody had any conflict.  It would be better if there were no more accidents or injuries.  If anyone can work out a way to make our roads, workplaces and public places 100% safe and remove all fallibility from medical practitioners, we will happily retrain to do something else.

While we both love the law and find the puzzles and problems that arise in litigation to be intellectually interesting, that is not the main driver for either of us.

Our commitment is to find a way of resolving disputes efficiently to reduce the cost and stress to everyone involved.

It is that simple.

I suppose we don’t really need a trip to Fiji to work that out…
