Effective 6 September 2021 Australians who suffer injury and loss as a result of their COVID-19 vaccination can register their intent to claim compensation from the national COVID-19 Vaccine Claims Scheme.

The Scheme applies to loss above $5,000 and claims will be assessed by independent experts.

The Scheme will be backdated to February 2021 and will provide access to compensation for COVID-19 claims related to the administration of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (‘TGA’)  approved vaccine, irrespective of where the vaccination occurs.

If you suffer a serious adverse reaction as a result of a vaccination you should report it to your doctor who can then inform the TGA.
